Carole A. Branch

d. February 18, 2023

Carole A. Branch, of Buckingham, PA, passed away on February 18, 2023. She was 86 years old and the wife of Woodman R. Branch, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2004. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Carole was the daughter of the late William and Mildred Comfort Spence.

“Hi, honey.” This was the affectionate greeting you’d receive walking into the room with Carole. Always warm and welcoming, always excited to see you. She was the architect of the most inviting home, the home everyone wanted to visit, and the home everyone ran to seek comfort in. She had a presence about her that could put you at ease – whether it be from the songs she would hum or sing, her sense of humor, or her impeccable advice.
Some of her favorite tunes to sing were “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Skip to My Lou,” – “I’ll get another one prettier than you, skip to my Lou my darlin’” – but in this case there was no one prettier. She was always the prettiest in every room. Carole was the embodiment of classic Hollywood; effortlessly glamorous. Her style was impeccable through every era of her life and she always advocated for proper skin care and taking care of oneself.
Her personality was colorful and spirited and Carole had a sharp sense of humor – something that caught the attention of her husband, Woodman when they met on a blind date. She would often recount this tale, fearful of the “Woody Branch” her friends set her up with, until she saw him walk through the door. They were the loves of each other’s lives, inseparable, and she always said that with him is where she always wanted to be, where she was happiest.
Carole always had an answer for you no matter your problem – not feeling well? Take some vitamins. Feeling bored? Only boring people are bored. When you’re just not quite sure what to do? Take off your stocking and pee in your shoe.

Carole’s hobbies included: reading, especially Janet Evanovich books, watching television and old movies (she had the absolute best taste in movies), working on her newspaper puzzles, and either praising or cursing out her favorite baseball team, the Phillies, dependent upon the score. Carole’s favorite vacation spot was Ocean City, NJ. She would enjoy strolling the boardwalk, visiting Hoy’s, picking up a good book from Atlantic City Books, and relaxing on the beach. Above everything though, Carole loved her family and for all her life she was a force and strong advocate for the happiness of her loved ones.

Carole is survived by her three children: Susan Branch, Robert Branch and Daniel (Cynthia) Branch; her five grandchildren: Jennifer (Thomas Laskey) Branch, Robert (Jenna) Branch, Christopher (Alexandra) Branch, Daniel Branch and Megan Branch, and her sister Joan Chierici. She is also survived by numerous family and friends, the lives she touched was many.
