Bernice “Bunny” Vanderbeek of Doylestown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5 at home surrounded by her family. She was 77 and the loving wife for 53 years of Richard R. Vanderbeek, M.D.
Born in Wyncote, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marian Brannon Ferguson.
Bunny attended St. Basil Academy, received her R.N. from Abington School of Nursing and
her B.S. in Nursing from Philadelphia College of Science and Textiles.
She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, tennis and skiing. She especially enjoyed spending countless summers on the North Fork of Long Island at her family’s summer home in Southold, N.Y.
Bunny will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and loyal friend.
In addition to her husband, Bunny is survived by her sons: Rob (Lisa), of Mendam, N.J., Paul (Penny), of Malvern
and Brad, of Doylestown and her grandchildren: Benjamin, Caroline, Trey and James, as well as her brother, Frank Ferguson, of Lansdale and her sister, Marnie Rose, of Southampton. She was predeceased by sisters, Laree and Eleanor Ferguson.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service 11 a.m., Saturday, November 19 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 East Court Street, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
