Barbara Ann Watson passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on May 21, 1959, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Kenneth and Marjorie Runquist.
Barb held a career in vaccine testing at Merck & Co., where she dedicated more than 20 years to the advancement of public health. Her professional journey was marked by her commitment to improving the lives of others through her work, reflecting the kind and gentle demeanor that endeared her to colleagues and friends alike.
An alumna of Pennsbury High School, Gwynedd Mercy University, and Thomas Edison State University, she valued education, instilling these principles in her family.
Barb was a passionate animal rescuer and gardener, possessing a deep bond with nature that drew people and animals to her. Her home was often filled with the joy of rescued animals and flourishing plants, exemplifying her nurturing spirit.
As a beloved mother, Barb is survived by her daughters: Caroline Watson and Pamela Watson, and her son-in-law, Andrew Sposato. She also leaves behind her sister, Elizabeth Guerin, brother-in-law, Glenn Guerin, her brothers: Charles Runquist and Eric Runquist, and sister-in-law, Virgie Runquist. In addition, Barb will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Watson and niece, Katies Waller. Her family takes comfort in knowing they will be reunited and a peace.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her unwavering kindness, dedication, and profound impact on the lives of those around her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2025 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown where the family will greet guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
Barb's compassion and warmth will continue to inspire all who knew her.
