Anne (née,Toor) LaRosa of Doylestown passed away peacefully Sunday, December 20th. She was 89 years of age and a resident of Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home.
Anne grew up in Doylestown on Sandy Ridge Poultry Farm on Sandy Ridge Road and attended Doylestown High School. She was an avid sports fan and participant and lettered in basketball and field hockey. She continued her love of sports throughout her life playing tennis and swimming until her later years. As a young student Anne attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH and later in life attended Thomas Edison State University, Trenton, New Jersey, majoring in the social sciences, receiving a bachelor’s degree at the age of seventy.
Throughout her adult life Anne was involved with a number of social justice issues and organizations. In retirement she had a great interest in wildlife and birding. She was especially fond of dogs and had one in her home almost continuously from childhood.
Anne is survived by her son, Dr. Gregory LaRosa, his wife, Kathleen, of Newton, MA. and her grandchildren: Catherine and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Frances (née Adams) Toor, her former husband, Frank J. LaRosa and her brother, John Toor.
Due to COVID-19 there will not be a funeral or memorial service.
