Anna Mae Wallowitch (Hock, Shaw) of Doylestown passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at home. She was 83 and widowed from Charles Shaw and divorced from John Hock.
Born in Philadelphia, Anna Mae was the daughter of the late John and Anna Norbutas Wallowitch.
Anna Mae always had a great interest in people and art which had taken her into a number of interesting jobs, countless adventures and satisfying encounters with people and places. Her first job was as Andy Warhol’s artist representative in Philadelphia. She also worked for Vic Manufacturing putting together their company magazine and keeping abreast of their work community.
Anna Mae adored her brothers. Her eldest, John, was a talented and beloved cabaret performer for decades in Manhattan, as well as a sharp witted friend to many. Edward was a renowned photographer and vibrant artist. Her encouragement of them and passion for their gifts and talents was something she delighted in sharing with many.
She is survived by her daughter: Jona Franklin (nee, Hock); her grandchildren: Ian, his wife, Kristin, Hannah, Lydia and Bela, his wife, Breanna; her great-grandchildren: Lily, Asher, Jude, Arden Jane, Silas, Charlotte, Elsie Mae, Rudy Mae and “baby on the way,” as well as her brother, Paul Wallowitch, her former son-in-law, Rick Franklin and countless beloved friends and acquaintances.
A memorial service will be at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Covenant Church, 4000 Route 202, Doylestown. Interment will be private.
