Ann Marie Durkan Coverdale, 81, of Buckingham, Pennsylvania earned her angel wings on May 6, 2023.
Born to Irish immigrants, Ann is a first-generation American. Ann was born to the late Anna Philomena Durkan and Thomas Durkan in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Philadelphia and attended West Catholic High School where she met the love of her life, Edward J. Coverdale III, M.D.
Ann and Ed were married for 55 years and have five children together. Ann and Ed settled in Buckingham, where they raised their family. The house in Buckingham would become a gathering place for the Coverdale family over the years.
Ann was a dedicated mother and spouse; she loved her family dearly. She was a hard worker and instilled that trait into her children. She was active in her community, volunteering in booster clubs and working as a teaching assistant and library aide in the Central Bucks School District. Ann loved Bucks County, PA and also had a love for traveling with her family. Throughout her life she enjoyed hosting holiday events, often throwing beautiful parties for family to bring everyone together — a quality that has been passed down to her children.
Ann is survived by her husband of five decades, Edward J. Coverdale III, M.D., her five children, Edward (Sharon) Coverdale of Boxborough, MA; Gregory (Dana) Coverdale of Doylestown, PA; Christine (Clifton) Pyne of Hilltown, PA; Marcella (Matthew) Hartman of Gettysburg, PA and Annmarie (Kyle) McCracken of Ardsley, PA, twelve grandchildren and her two siblings, Mary (James) McCrea and Thomas (Joyce) Durkan.
