Irene A. Braun

d. November 7, 2019

Irene Ada Braun departed this earth and entered heaven’s gate on November 7, 2019 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 86 years old.

Born in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Victor and Bianca “Blanche” Helen Nerozzi Braun.

Irene graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1951. She worked at the Community College of Philadelphia for ten years and received several college credits there. Since 2005, she resided at the Philadelphia Protestant Home and was a member of The Heritage Society. She loved her life there.

Irene was an avid reader and writer and she journaled daily. She loved cats, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. Although never married, Irene, lovingly known as Aunt Renie was deeply devoted to the families of her five nieces, nephew, twelve grandnieces and grandnephews and four great-grandnieces. She faithfully sent birthday and Christmas cards and regularly called her beloved family members.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Braun O’Keefe of Pinehurst, North Carolina, nieces, Lisa Braun Mino (Robert) of Furlong, Pennsylvania, Judy Braun Albano (Tony) of St. James, North Carolina, Christine Braun (Stan Freck) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rebecca Braun Belice (Mike Perrino) of Cardiff by the Sea, California, nephew, Peter Joseph Braun (Lee) of Alexandria, Virginia and sister-in-law, Claire Liebl Braun, of Alexandria, Virginia. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Peter Joseph Braun, CAPT, USN (Ret.) of Alexandria, Virginia, brother-in-law Edward W. O’Keefe of Madison, Connecticut and niece, Carol Anne O’Keefe of Pinehurst, North Carolina.
