Lola C. Gibbs

On the morning of May 14, 2017, Lola Clara Gibbs passed away peacefully at home surrounded and comforted by her family. Lola was 86 years old and the wife for 53 years of the late Herbert H. Gibbs

Born in Cheswold, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Edna and Earl Jeremiah Ridgeway II.

Lola was an enrolled citizen of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Tribal Nation and known to her family simply as “sister.”

Lola was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who always put others before herself. She was a kind, gentle and generous person who loved spending time with family, always there to brighten the lives of others.

Lola is survived by her two daughters: Pamela Thomas and Denise Gibbs; her two grandchildren: Terrance Corbin and Nneka Kellam; her five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Shawn, Samantha, Sloan and Lola, as well as her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Herbert “Buddy” Gibbs Jr; her twin brother Isaac C. Ridgeway and her brother, Earl “Lovie” Ridgeway III.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, 11 a.m., Saturday, May 20 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA 18901 where the family will receive guests from 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Interment will follow a Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery (Hatfield Cemetery), Penn Avenue, Hatfield, PA 19440.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution on behalf of our beloved Lola may be made to: Doylestown Hospital Hospice, c/o Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
