Jeffrey Joel Brown

November 17, 2017

Jeffrey Joel Brown crossed over into the infinite on November 17, 2017, three days shy of his 61st birthday, surrounded by his family and the music he loved.

Jeff was a thoughtful and considerate man who loved spending time outdoors, especially gardening and often had his farmer’s tan before May.

He loved family vacations to the beach, especially Lewes, Delaware and New England, creating lists, numbers, flowers and family pets. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: good food, good wine and good company.
Jeff experienced living abroad as a child, but was happy to settle down, start a family and plant roots in Doylestown in 1983.

He enjoyed working on his house, refinishing furniture, listening to music, especially Pink Floyd and Dire Straits, along with spending quality time with his loved ones. He especially liked going to Andy’s, his brother-in-law and best friend, to help him restore his farmhouse.

He was cherished by those who knew him and will be missed very much.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1956, he is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Schad) and their four children: Jeffrey Joel, his wife Shannon and son, Quinn Emlen; Katharine Elizabeth, her husband, Richie; James Andrew and Rachael Anne. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth; brother, Tom (Debbie) and sister, Lydia (Glenn). Jeff considered his wife’s family part of his own and is survived by: Franny (Debra), Beth, Claudia, sister-in-law, Marian, Jodi and Jane (Ricky), as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Brown; his in-laws, Francis and Lillian Schad; his brother-in-law, Andy and nephew, Gage.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 11 a.m. Friday,
November 24, 2017, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown, where the family will receive guests after 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Carversville Cemetery, Carversville.
